New IEEE Standard - Active. General requirements, functional and technical performance requirements, test requirements, labeling requirements, packaging, transportation and storage requirements, supply integrity requirements, and quality assurance requirements for hybrid high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission control and protection equipment are provided in this guide. This guide could be applied to the control and protection equipment of parallel two-terminal or multiterminal hybrid dc transmission system with a dc voltage level of ±110 kV and above, including line-commutated converter (LCC) and voltage-source converter (VSC).
This guide describes the general requirements, functional and technical performance requirements, test requirements, labeling and packaging requirements, transportation and storage requirements, supply integrity requirements, and quality assurance requirements for hybrid high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission control and protection equipment. This guide is applicable to control and protection equipment of parallel two-terminal or multiterminal hybrid dc transmission systems, which contain line-commutated converter (LCC) valves and modular multilevel converter (MMC) valves, and can be used as the basis for equipment design, manufacturing, testing and acceptance.
The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on general, functional, performance, labeling, packaging, transportation, storage, supply integrity, and quality assurance characteristics of hybrid HVDC control and protection devices.
