Nylon-11 Based Polyamide Coatings and Linings for Steel Water Pipe and Fittings

PUBLISH DATE 2017
This standard describes Nylon-11 based polyamide coating systems for interior and exterior of steel pipe, connections, fittings, and special sections (articles) that are used in water-handling equipment that is installed aboveground, belowground, or underwater. Polyamide coating systems are thermoplastic and are ordinarily applied in a shop or manufacturing facility. The purpose of this standard is to establish and describe the minimum requirements for the application and use of polyamide systems for steel articles employed in water handling to maximize long-term performanceβ€”in particular, long-term corrosion protection.
